5 out of 5 starsRoute, duration, vehicles, stops, timing: every element is co-designed with you before the day.
Quad + buggy + seafood lunch + sunset + pro photographer: one brief, one team, one day.
Ideal for content creators, brands, agencies, weddings, photo campaigns — we produce the setting, you produce the content.
Multiple children ages, grandparents in a support 4x4, coordination of pauses and meals: we handle the full logistics.
Seminars, team-buildings, incentives, retreats: coordination with your hotels, transfers, catering and complementary animations.
You don’t stitch together 5 vendors — we consolidate everything into a single quote. You approve, we execute.
A custom tour in Essaouira is not another package inside a menu: it is a project co-designed with our team from a blank page. We start from your goal — a wedding anniversary, a team-building, a fashion photo shoot, a surprise gift, a honeymoon, a film shoot — and rebuild a tour around it. Vehicle mix (quad, buggy, mix, sometimes support 4x4), duration, route, timing, stops, add-on vendors (pro photographer, private chef, decorator, drone): every brick is designed for your case and yours alone. This format exists precisely because the most demanding visitors — complex families, companies, agencies, couples with a big project — do not find their fit in a standard tour. Essaouira, with its Atlantic setting and terrain variety, is particularly well suited to this tailor-made approach.
The audience for a custom tour is probably the most diverse on the site. It includes international couples preparing a marriage proposal on the dunes, with tea break, hidden bouquet and ambushed photographer. It includes extended families where grandparents, teens and young kids all need to exist within the same day. It includes brands (fashion, watches, drinks, automotive) shooting on quad or buggy with a 100% Atlantic backdrop, drone above the dunes, coordinated stunt drivers. It includes companies organizing seminars or incentives who want a strong, memorable activity that does not feel like a team-building cliché. And it includes travelers who simply want to combine several formats in one day — quad in the morning, buggy in the afternoon, sunset in the evening — without rebuilding the logistics puzzle themselves.
The terrain remains Essaouira’s: Argan forest, sand dunes, Atlantic beach, Berber hamlets, coastal viewpoints. But a custom lets you push further. You can add a shifted sunset point, less crowded, more intimate for a couple. You can plan a photo stop in a specific setting (isolated tree, photogenic dune, empty beach section) requested by a creative team. You can coordinate a traditional lunch in a partner hamlet, with ground service for non-riders. You can align the route with the exact sun position on a given date, particularly useful for a wedding or editorial coverage. The guide keeps full sovereignty on safety — no dangerous trail, no risky timing — but within that frame, almost everything is possible.
Custom durations range from a micro format (very targeted 1h to 2h, e.g. a short photo shoot) to a full day, and even multi-day projects for a production or a corporate event. A “light” custom (1 photographer, 1 quad, 1 buggy, 1 tea break) fits in 3h. A “full” custom (4-6 machines, photographer, drone, private lunch, sunset) takes a full day. An “event” custom (10-40 participants, multiple waves, transfers, catering, debrief room) can spread over 2 to 3 consecutive days. What we guarantee in all cases: a single clear quote, with inclusions and exclusions detailed — no stack of partner invoices you would have to handle directly.
Safety in a custom stays identical to standard tours: full briefing, helmets, vehicle check, licensed guide. But it is enriched with an added layer of coordination. A wedding on the dunes requires making sure the bride does not ride in her dress; a drone shoot demands safe aerial corridors; a corporate incentive requires a briefing that can be reviewed upstream by the client’s HR. So we set up a written plan before the day: timing, positions, emergency procedures, weather backups. A valid car driving license remains required for every driver, including production ones. Pregnant guests remain advised against, regardless of context. No custom, even the most glamorous, skips base rules.
From Marrakech, Casablanca or Agadir, a custom is planned earlier than a standard tour. From Marrakech (2h30-3h drive), a custom day at minimum deserves a night in Essaouira — pickup can happen at a partner riad, logistics are smooth, fatigue is absorbed. From Casablanca (4h each way), two nights are strongly recommended, especially for a family or corporate event. From Agadir (3h coastal drive up), a morning pickup for a same-day sunset custom is common. For complex requests — international wedding, brand shoot, 40-person seminar — we study the full logistics, often with a dedicated project manager: accommodations, transfers, catering, photographer coordination, local authorizations if needed. A project of that size is ideally launched 4 to 12 weeks ahead.
Compared to a standard tour, a custom costs more because it mobilizes more resources and coordination. But compared to assembling 5 independent vendors yourself (quad rental, buggy rental, restaurant, photographer, driver), it costs less and generates far less stress. Compared to a classic event agency that does not know the quad terrain, a custom operated by our team guarantees the outdoor part will run under real licensed field guides. Compared to a classic private tour, a custom pushes personalization further: it is not “a tour dedicated to your group” but “a tour designed around your project”. None of these formats is inherently better; the custom is simply the tool that unlocks projects nothing else can carry.
On the day of the custom tour, visible coordination matters as much as the invisible part. A project lead — sometimes the guide, sometimes a paired coordinator — stays your single contact from morning to evening. Pickup arrives on time, with the right number of vehicles and the right vendors. The personalized briefing accounts for group specificities: kids, seniors, returning-from-injury guests. On the trail, everything planned unfolds — precise photo stops, extended tea breaks, surprise moments. Add-on vendors (photographer, private chef, drone) appear at their exact slot and leave when their mission is done. At the end, a debrief validates the deliverables (photos, videos, memories) and opens the door to a follow-up. Many custom clients come back the following year with a new project — perhaps the strongest sign that the format keeps the promise it makes.
The wedding custom is one of the most emotional use cases we handle. Typical scenario: a couple scouting six weeks before the big day, a partner photographer who already knows our sunset spots, a local caterer for a post-shoot cocktail, and a weather Plan B locked in from the quote signature. On the day, the bride arrives in comfortable civil clothes; she puts on the dress only at the shoot spot, sheltered from wind, never on a buggy in the gown (absolute safety rule). The drone lifts off if conditions allow, captures the wide scene, comes back down. The photographer alternates wide and tele. We frame timing so we do not overflow into the next light. In a 90-minute light window, we often produce the equivalent of three hours of studio work. Couples leave with images no studio could give them.
The production custom — commercial, music video, series — is another world. Here we no longer only provide vehicles; we become an operational partner of a film crew. We supply our stunt drivers (trained to drive for the camera), coordinate local authorizations, manage fuel/water/meals logistics on site, and secure zones around the set. A typical shoot runs one to three days, with location scouting 24-48h earlier. We work more and more with international productions drawn by the Atlantic light and terrain variety less than an hour from base. Our rules remain clear: non-negotiable safety, respect for the sites, clean restoration at the end. A shoot that leaves a site less clean than it found it will not get an agreement next year.
The multi-day corporate custom is the third major world. A 25-40 person retreat over 2-3 days is a full coordination project: staggered arrivals, hotel allocation, transfers, flagship outdoor activity (usually our tour), work sessions, themed dinners, closing outing. We play the role of local orchestrator for the outdoor part and the connection to local vendors. The client keeps sovereignty over their program; we guarantee all the moving parts turn. This approach saves the client from exhausting themselves assembling five local contacts they do not know — one interlocutor, one plan, one post-event report. Many of our corporate clients come back each year on this format.
A word on what a custom is NOT. It is not a magic wand: we cannot control the weather, a delayed flight, or a power failure in a partner riad. It is not a way to bypass safety rules: minimum ages, driving license, pregnant guests advised against — all remain in force. It is not free or low-cost: customization has a price, and an honest quote reflects the real team time engaged. It is not a machine for unwanted surprises: we do not invoice hidden costs after the quote is signed. Setting these expectations upstream is probably the best service we deliver to custom clients — and this might be why so many come back year after year with a new project to bring to life in Essaouira.
To close, a quick guide for readers still weighing whether to launch a custom request. The simple test is this: does your project have at least two moving parts we would need to coordinate for you (photographer + tour, tour + lunch, wedding + drone, teambuilding + hotel), or does it need at least one non-standard element (specific route, specific timing outside normal formats, brand-styled vehicles, integrated catering)? If yes, custom is the right frame. If your need is only a private tour without unusual coordination, save time and money and book a private tour directly — we will still take excellent care of your group. If your need touches sensitive or regulated territory (weapons, protected areas, night riding), we will honestly tell you what is off the table and what is not, before you spend time preparing.
Practically, the best way to launch a custom is a single message with five short paragraphs: goal (why this project matters), participants (numbers, ages, roles), format wishes (vehicles, duration, must-haves), constraints (dates, budget, non-negotiable elements), and open questions (what you do not yet know but need us to advise on). We reply within 24-72 hours depending on complexity, with a concrete plan and a transparent quote. From that moment, one project manager becomes your unique contact until the day of the event. Whether it is a marriage proposal, a family reunion, a brand shoot or a corporate retreat, the operational load moves off your shoulders and onto ours — which is the whole point of the custom format. Essaouira is ready; we simply arrange the ground under your idea.
